Collaboration as a path toward autonomous land management.
Kankawarwa
On April 15, the Kadaster team visited the Kankawarwa community in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta to present a joint work proposal with the land team of the Cabildo Arhuaco of Magdalena and La Guajira.
During the meeting, which gathered around 100 participants representing 20 communities, technical topics were addressed, general questions were answered, and the importance of effective coordination with institutions was highlighted as a key step toward shared goals.
This collaboration, part of the Booster Project, aims to strengthen Indigenous territorial governance and promote community-led management of territorial information, so that communities can make informed decisions based on their own priorities, dynamics, and well-being.
Kadaster supports this process by providing technical and legal assistance, reaffirming its commitment to recognizing Indigenous land management systems and contributing to the development of processes that guarantee territorial rights through an intercultural approach.
