Building Territorial Governance from the Ground Up: Participatory Data Collection in Colombia
Global Land Forum 2025
On Friday, June 20, as part of #GLF2025, the LAND-at-Scale Colombia project, together with Kadaster and the ITC of the University of Twente, held a workshop on spatial data collection using ODK technology, applying the Fit for Purpose (FfP) participatory approach.
Throughout the session, participants worked on a practical case study that allowed them to design mobile data collection forms based on the principles of the LADM model (ISO 19152:2012). This model supports active community participation, contributing to the strengthening of territorial governance.
One of the key messages that guided the discussion was: the value of data lies not only in its technical precision, but in what it enables agreements, dialogue, informed decision-making, and the importance of involving communities in the data collection process.
